so much has happened in the past month i forgot i started this little blogger site. uune was a crazy month! between birthdays, babies, fathers day, people moving, summer. EXXXXXXHAUSTING, but all worth it.
first and most important congrats to my old roommate Lauren Veve Meeks who gave birth to a handsome little fellow on June 22. Caleb Brinner Meeks came in weighing a womping 9 pounds! poor poor Veve. mommy and baby are both healthy and happy and i couldn't be happier for her and her family of 3 now.
poor poor Jeff now. if you know me at all you know that i have baby fever. don't get me wrong i know in my heart i'm not physically emotionally or financially ready. but gosh do i just adore kids. i always have, even since i was a kid. i remember when i was 7 and we moved to PG (Pecan Grove) i was already naming myself the street babysitter. i've always had that motherly instinct in me. ha even my therapist says that 1/2 the reason i'm not dealing with these deaths the past year is because im more focused on making sure friends and family are ok before myself. i'm hoping having baby meeks around now will help tie me over for the next 5 years. i am however playing the name game with jeff and i must say im surprised that we agree on 90%. we are so different in so many ways and i thought for sure naming our future kids would be something of an argument, but then again this is not really happening for years and years so when the time comes im sure there will be some debating.
fathers day was by far one of the best days this past month. jeff and i drove to waco where my sister and her family live and met with them and my parents for lunch. we also got to drive by their new house they just bought and moved into. it is gorgeous and big and has a pool and everything a family of 4 needs with 2 growing boys. so happy for them.
Here is all of us at lunch, minus mom (she was the camera woman)
After lunch we met jeff's whole family in waco. all of them drove in from dallas and his brother from austin and we had some great bbq at rudy's. it was so nice to finally meet the other 1/2 of his family i hadn't had the chance to meet yet.
this is us with his new nephew Greyson
all in all in was a great day spent with both of our families. don't get me wrong it was a looooong day and we were both exhausted once we made it back to austin. being able to see both families on such a special day was truly a blessing.
i cannot type anymore today. more updates to come. maybe 2 in one day.
